If you’re looking for a new spring read, you’re in luck. There are several upcoming used book sales here in Louisville — the perfect way to snag some well-loved copies of classics and oddities alike.
Mid City Mall Pop-up Book Sale
The Friends of the Library have a temporary book shop set up inside Mid City Mall across from the Highlands-Shelby Park branch. The shop is open Saturdays, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. There are also books available downstairs inside Nearly New 2 You.
Locust Grove Book Sale
This annual event benefits the historic property. Members can get a special preview day on Thursday, March 19, but the sale opens to the general public on Friday, March 20 and runs through Sunday, March 22, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. each day.

Derby season begins in style at the Kentucky Derby Museum Hat Show, aka the ultimate fashion kickoff to spring, happening Sunday, March 22.

This year, Legend at Pope Lick will combine its annual Goatman Festival and Baby Goat Experience into one big goat-stravaganza. The event will run Thursday, Oct. 15-Sunday, Oct. 18 and feature all the horror staples of the Goatman Festival, plus opportunities to meet exotic goat breeds.
Mansion Monday
A private dock, a tennis court, an attached three car garage, and a pole barn: All this and more await you at this 3,000+ sqft home off Chenoweth Run Road.
Derby
In case you missed it, this year’s Woodford Reserve Derby Bottle is out. The bottle features artwork by Chicago-based UofL grad Anna Murphy, whose work often uses delicate shades of blue reminiscent of porcelain. It’s available in store or online.
Seasonal
After losing an hour of sleep this past weekend, it’s time to make it worth it. Now the sun is setting after 7 p.m. again, we can spend more time exploring Louisville’s beautiful parks. If you need some inspo, our events calendar will be full of outdoor fun for the foreseeable future.
