The goats are coming

Like a goat charging at full speed down Nanny Goat Strut, March will be here before we know it. And that means the return of an annual Louisville favorite: Bock Fest.

This year’s festivities will occur on Saturday, March 28 from 12 to 6 p.m. Goats will be featured at a number of other events leading up to Bock Fest, including a Baby Goat Pre-Party on Saturday, Feb. 21 at Whiskey Thief Distilling Co. and at Tailspin Ale Festival on Saturday, March 7.

Development

Mid City Mall will be demolished by the end of the year, according to the current plans for the site’s redevelopment into Mid City Market. Stay tuned for more opportunities for public engagement. (Louisville Business First)

The Fifth Third building on 4th Street is set to become a J. W. Marriott. The 26-floor building would feature over 400 rooms, conference + meeting space, and first floor retail space. It’s exected to open sometime late next year or in 2028. (Courier Journal)

Derby

A Hallmark romance movie shot at Churchill Downs comes out this spring. “Kentucky Roses” will premiere on Saturday, May 2 (that’s Derby Day) on the Hallmark Channel. The film follows a greenhouse worker who dreams of adding to the garland of roses. (Courier Journal)
