This week, I finally stepped aboard YachtSea, the newest bar in NuLu. I interviewed the owner earlier this year, and it was great to see the place up and running. If you like The Merryweather, you’ll feel right at home inside YachSea’s wood-paneled atmosphere. The drinks have similar personality, but with a nautical and tropical flare.
My rec: a Vitamin Sea paired with a basket of YachtSticks (think: seasoned mozzarella sticks).

The Louisville Zoo is welcoming two new orangutans, the first to join the zoo in almost 30 years. Mother and daughter Sumaga and Keru moved to the zoo from Colorado as part of a species survival plan, with Sumaga as a potential mate for the zoo’s male orangutan Segundo. (WHAS11)

LouCity FC has signed a contract with 16-year-old Brandon Dayes, a former St. X Tiger. Dayes has already played 11 games with the team, but will now be a permanent part of the roster and officially a pro soccer player.

Pantone’s color of the year for 2026 is here: Cloud Dancer. Personally, I find this one to be a little dull, but it got me thinking: what’s the most iconic color in Louisville? Cardinal red? LouCity purple? Ohio River brown? If you have an idea, send it my way simply by replying to this email.
