What a year it’s been.

Derby City made quite a name for itself in 2025. Here are just a few facts and figures about the year:
  • Louisville drove about $4.4 billion in tourism dollars, ~30% of the state’s total tourism revenue.
  • Louder Than Life + Bourbon & Beyond drew a combined 450,000 attendees.
  • The Louisville Airport saw a 3% increase over 2024, its busiest year yet.
If you think Louisville is the tops, you’re not alone. Here are some of the accolades and recognition Louisville got this year:
  • Best Cities for New Year’s Eve Celebrations (WalletHub)
  • 24 Unique Bachelorette Party Destinations Around the World (Good Housekeeping)
  • Black History Month Travel: 7 Domestic Destinations To Explore Your Roots (Vibe)
  • The Top 100 Date Night Restaurants In America — La Bodeguita de Mima (Yelp)

If you’re a fan of vintage shopping, worry not. Nearly New 2 You, the spiritual successor to Nearly New, is set to remain at Mid City Mall until July, with plans for a month-to-month lease after that. If you’re planning to ring in the new year with a bang, make sure to check the rules. Louisville has restrictions on certain fireworks, including bottle rockets and other fireworks designed to fly. Take a look back to the 4th of July for a full rules recap.
