Traffic

Crews wrapped up construction on hospital curve earlier than expected, repairing bridge joints + installing a high-friction surface between the Kennedy Bridge and the Witherspoon Street overpass intended to prevent further accidents, especially from semi-trucks losing traction in the rain. Several lanes on the bridge are closed for other maintenance. (WHAS)

Louisville community leaders, including golfer + donor Justin Thomas, unveiled a new inclusive playground in St. Matthews this week. It’s the 15th playground built by the Dream Foundation, with a 16th under construction in Clifton. (Courier Journal)

Louisville has hit the big time. The NuLu Bock Fest goat race reruns will be broadcast on ESPN this weekend as part of The Ocho, a showcase of unusual sports.

You can watch the broadcast live on ESPN2 at 10:30 p.m. tonight — right before the T-Rex World Championship Races. There will also be a community watch party at Whiskey Thief Distilling on Sunday, Aug. 10 where you can meet goats Whiskey and Tango. The party starts at 2 p.m., with a viewing at 4 p.m.
