“Swan Lake” on Friday, Feb. 27 and Saturday, Feb. 28. One of the most famous ballets of all time will take wing in Louisville early next year.
“Choreographer’s Showcase” running Friday, March 20 through Sunday, March 29. If new work is more your speed, grab tickets to this annual review, performed in an intimate studio setting rather than on the big stage.

Outdoors
Mosquito fogging continues this week around Old Louisville, Irish Hills, Iroquois, California, and Churchill Downs, as more cases of West Nile virus have been detected in insect traps. Officials suggest protecting yourself from bites with bug spray + dumping any standing water — think empty flower pots or bird baths.

Reader Katie J. sent me an email yesterday about State Fair entries, and I’m intrigued. Katie has submitted a Christmas stocking with a “grilling Santa,” plus a framed cross stich “Greenhouse of Oddities.” I’ll be looking for them come August, Katie.
If you are submitting anything to the State Fair, drop me an email so I can go check it out.
