Louisvillians, we’re pleased to tell you that today is National Donut Day, which actually is observed twice in the US — once on the first Friday of June and again on November 5.

The public comment form for Mayor Craig Greenberg’s 2025-2026 fiscal year budget will close on Monday, June 9. The $1.26 billion proposal includes funds for public safety, parks, modular housing, and more. Metro Council will finalize + vote on the budget on Thursday, June 26.
Number
$13.6 million. That’s the sale price of Brown-Forman’s cooperage on MacLean Avenue, which opened in 1945. The 16-acre property was purchased by Missouri-based barrel maker Independent Stave Company after Brown-Forman ended operations there in April. The company plans to resell the cooperage vs. reopening it.
