Now in its 12th year, the Louisville Free Public Library’s How-To Festival returns on Saturday, May 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Main Branch at 301 York St.
The free event offers workshops, activities, and demonstrations on how to do over 50 things, from making solar combustion art to catching storm water for your garden— even improvising on a musical instrument.
Here are some activities the LOUtoday team have their eyes on:
Editor Declan would like to learn “how to be a ham (amateur) radio operator” and “how to identify fossils and understand deep time.”
Editor Brent is looking to learn “how to raise chickens for their eggs,” “how to blend your own tea leaves,” and “how to read tarot cards.”
Most “how-to” sessions will last ~45 minutes each, with the events happening throughout the Main Library and surrounding grounds.

That gum you like... The Whirling Tiger will be host to “The Music of Twin Peaks” performed by Movie Jail, along with a David Lynch audio visual experience, on Saturday, May 10, 8 p.m. Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door.
