This 3rd Street spot has served Old Louisville for 60+ years, and its giving more than just nostalgia. In addition to the classics — like chicken fried steak — you can also find the unexpected here, like chicken shawarma.
This place has been “Tops in Food” in the Douglass Loop area since 1962. You’ll come for the window art but stay for the old-school diner food, like The Melt.
These twin diners are staples in their respective neighborhoods: Clifton + Old Louisville. Each has the quintessential diner characteristics — especially the neon signs. Stop by anytime, they’re both open 24/7.
This one technically isn’t a diner. It’s a drive-in — but it still oozes all of the mid-century charm of the genre. Pull up for a WhizzBurger with curbside service, although these days they leave the roller skates at home.
