Keep Thunder alive
This is only the second time Thunder Over Louisville has been canceled since it began in 1991. | Photo by @u2photography
Thunder Over Louisville may be canceled, but there’s still plenty to do this weekend even without fireworks and fighter planes.
Louisville is expected to see a $126 million economic impact from the event’s cancelation, according to Courier Journal projections — so go show your local businesses some love.
Editor’s Note: While flood waters are receding, many places will still be damaged or unsafe. Stay current on road closures, and plan your weekend accordingly.
Thunder Under Tiger
Whirling Tiger will host its first-ever “Thunder Under Tiger” event on Saturday, April 12, at 8 p.m. Expect videos of fireworks and planes, and join some karaoke roulette.
Racing Louisville vs. Washington Spirit
Come out in your best purple digs to support Louisville’s pro soccer players as they take on this West Coast team. There won’t be any fireworks, but Racing will be fighting hard to earn their second-ever win over the Spirit.
Bonus: LOUtoday readers get discounted tickets to all Racing + LouCity games.
