That’s fall, folks
The fall leaves may be pretty, but they sure can make a mess. | Photo by Louisville Tourism
So your jack-o'-lantern is looking droopy and the beautiful autumn foliage is starting to pile up.
Check out these pro tips on what to do with your yard waste this time of year.
🍂 Curbside yard waste collection
Items like leaves and twigs will be be picked up by Public Works on your scheduled yard waste day. Make sure items are tied into bundles or placed into 20-40 gallon containers with handles or paper yard waste bags.
🍂 Leaf tips
Public Works recommends mowing over leaves to mulch them back into your yard as a way to reduce waste + return nutrients to the soil.
But if you need them gone like the wind, drop them off for free at four locations, Tuesday-Saturday through to Dec. 7. Be sure to bring them in a container you can take home as they only accept loose leaves.
