Applications are open for the 2025 Louisville Metro Youth Cabinet, a semi-new program aimed at getting young people involved with local government. The advisory board is open to Louisvillians ages 16-24.
Fun fact: 37% of the greater Louisville area’s population is under the age of 30.
The inaugural 2023 Metro Youth Cabinet hosted youth outreach events like a vendor fair, youth panel discussions, and documentary screenings as part of National Youth Violence Prevention Month.
The Cabinet also launched Amplify 502 Youth, an opportunity for the community to nominate young people who have overcome systemic barriers and set a good example through service or volunteering.
Applications for the 2025 Youth Cabinet are due Monday, Sept. 30. Cabinet members receive a $1,000 stipend and the opportunity to complete 40+ community service hours, in addition to attending city events and working with community leaders.
