There’s a new pizza parlor in Schnitzelburg. Craft House Pizza has opened its newest location at 1500 S. Shelby St. It’s the seventh location for the local chain, which offers pasta, salads, sandwiches, and pizza — they’ve even got a hot brown pizza.

Grrreat news — there’s a new tiger cub at the Louisville Zoo. Sumatran tigers Kami Sambal + Jingga welcomed a cub last week, the first born at the zoo since 2004. Details on when you can see the new cub in-person are TBD, but you can catch the cuteness by watching a livestream.

There’s a new world record in the Dainty contest. The Schnitzelburg neighborhood hosted the 54th Annual World Championship of the legendary street game on Monday, and Jason Lippa took home the title by hitting the Dainty 173 feet — that’s 20 feet further than the previous record.

Earlier this week, we told you about Yared Nuguse, a Louisvillian competing as a sprinter in Paris with Team USA. Today, we’ve got our eyes on the dance floor, as a Louisvillian is set to compete in one of the Games newest events.
Sunny Choi, Breaking
The newest sport in the games, breaking — aka break dancing — will see a Louisvillian busting a move. Choi was born in Cookeville, TN, but moved to Derby City at the age of seven — and her parents still live here. The breaking competition starts Friday, Aug. 9.
