Soon you’ll be able to visit a European patio without leaving NuLu.
Sarah Height and Chelsea Monsma will soon open their second — or third and fourth, depending on how you count — combo bar + boutique shop at 829 E. Market St. (next to NuLu Marketplace).
Bar Nada Nada, offering natural wines, cocktails, and small bites, will be joined in a few weeks by Goldie, a shop selling coffee, snacks, and gifts. Height and Monsma are also behind Canary Club and The Breeze (1247 S. Shelby St.) in Shelby Park.
The Bar Nada Nada G+T features house-made tonic, peppercorns, rosemary, mint, and citrus.

While the cocktails they’ve been teasing on Instagram look quite refreshing — we can’t wait for the gin and tonic — natural wine is what connects both ventures.
“The through line between Canary Club, The Breeze, Bar Nada Nada, and Goldie’s is natural wine,” Height said. “It’s how we got our start and it’s where our passion lies. While the concepts will be similar in its base idea, the execution, style, and overall vibe will be a whole new experience.”
Bar Nada Nada will feature small bites for aperitivo hour or late-night bites.

Bar Nada Nada will feature a constantly rotating wine list encouraging customers to come back again and again. Height and Monsma drew inspiration from their journeys through Spain, Portugal, France, and Italy + visits to some of Europe’s best wine and cocktail bars — but don’t feel like it’s going to be too hoity-toity.
“We think wine shouldn’t be anything to take too seriously. It’s made to be enjoyed among friends, and we hope to provide the best space we can for our neighbors,” Height said.
The space will include a covered patio, a cozy corner with sofa seating, and a bar.
Bar Nada Nada will open Sunday, July 21, 6-11 p.m. with Goldie’s to follow in the coming weeks.

Everything you need to know about Louisville’s new Department of Transportation
The new DOT might expedite transportation-related projects like new road construction. | Photo via Louisville Metro.
Mayor Craig Greenberg and Metro Public Works Director Jennifer Caummisar-Kern announcedthe road ahead for a new Department of Transportation (DOT) at a press conference Tuesday, July 16.
The department will consolidate all aspects of transportation — think: planning, design, engineering, operations, and maintenance. Right now, Louisville’s Department of Public Works (DPW) and Office of Planning split these duties.
Earlier this year, the Metro Government assembled a DOT consulting team, which outlined three recommendations for the new department:
Reorganize: Transportation-related functions will be consolidated under one organizational umbrella. This includes creating four full-time positions funded by the 2024-2025 Metro budget.
Realign: The new department will have defined core values, a vision statement, a mission statement, and specific goals meant to reflect community priorities.
Rebrand: DPW will become the Department of Transportation and Services to underscore its role in transportation.
The new department is set to launch in January 2025.
