Muhammad Ali Center CEO Marilyn Jackson has been named the next President and CEO of the American Alliance of Museums. Jackson came to Louisville from United Way of Metro Chicago in 2022, and will now head up the largest organization representing museums, science centers, and zoos nationwide.

The Mellwood Art Center’s monthly art opening is this Friday, March 1, 6:30-9 p.m. Meet local psychedelic artist Cameron Davis at the opening of his solo exhibition “Infinite Horizon.” You might have seen Davis’ paintings on display at places like Logan Street Market.

The Louisville Metro Office of Arts and Creative Industries is seeking panelists to review submissions to its annual grant program. Selected panelists will help award funding to Jefferson County arts and culture nonprofits + shape the future of Lou’s vibrant arts scene.

Legacy
Wendy Novak, a local philanthropist and advocate for those battling diabetes, has died at the age of 71. She worked with her husband, David, on the Lift a Life Novak Family Foundation, which gifted Norton Children’s Hospital $15 million to help fight the disease. (WHAS11)

Louisville Metro Public Works keeps our residential + Central Business District roads clear of debris every year from March through November.
During this nine-month period, street sweepers roll out — weather permitting — to remove debris from gutters and roadsides that would otherwise end up in the storm drains, potentially causing water pollution.
The service tends to the roadways within the Urban Services District. So if that’s you, here’s what you need to know:
