Here are just a few love stories that we just had to share:
“We had our first date overlooking the Louisville skyline. We met there at 4 p.m. and stayed and talked until 1 a.m.... That was in August of 2020, it’s now February 2024 and we live in a cute little house near UofL. He is getting his master’s and I am doing my dream job... We have a beautiful, sweet cat named Pepper. We couldn’t be happier.” — NB
“Two months into dating after a night of drinking and good food, Elliott and I walked across the walking bridge. I was a few steps behind him when I said, ‘I’m going to marry you someday.’ Elliott was not too far out of a bad relationship, but this didn’t scare him off. He laughed and gave me a hug. It’s been three years and now we are planning to get married next year. All of our best memories take place in Louisville.” — Anonymous reader
“My now husband and I met when we were both leaving the Bellarmine University campus one day and his car ran out of gas. I stopped to help, he asked to take me to a movie to thank me, and 12 years later we’re still together.” — Taylor S. + Tyler C.
“This is where I became a mom. My daughter is both my littlest and biggest love.” — Erica W. (at Norton Women and Children’s Hospital)
Now we’re really feeling the love.

The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District says that Louisville saw an uptick in poor air quality days last year, due in part to smoke from the Canadian wildfires over the summer. LOU had 21 such days last year, up from seven in 2022. Read the District’s full annual report.

While Bob Edwards’ time on “Morning Edition” mostly predates me, it’s been enjoyable to go back and listen to his work amid the tributes to his life this week. Through the 1980s, Edwards regularly chatted with legendary sportscaster Red Barber. Listening to those two is like eavesdropping on a conversation between old friends on a Sunday morning in a coffee shop — in other words, delightful.
