  • Today is the school choice application deadline for Jefferson County Public Schools families, ahead of the 2024-2025 school year. The deadline applies to new students + those who are changing schools.

  • A food truck park called the The Jubilee Field Bar is coming to the Merriwether neighborhood next year. Located at 529 E. Burnett Ave., between Old Louisville and Schnitzelburg, the $200,000 operation will include an outdoor bar and space for six trucks. (Louisville Business First)

  • A downtown pizza spot is moving, but not until its old space gets a proper send off. Bearno’s By-the-Bridge is relocating to 301 W. Market St., near the Old Spaghetti Factory. The Main Street location will shut down tomorrow, but the restaurant will hold a family reunion for employees tonight. (WDRB)

  • A new cafe is open in a busy area of the Clifton neighborhood. Cafe Kiwa serves coffee, Korean tea, paninis, desserts, and more at 2235 Frankfort Ave. The cafe is still in its soft opening phase, but will hold an official grand opening on Thursday, Jan. 4.

  • The Louisville Science Center is offering pay-by-day camps for kids from Tuesday, Dec. 26 through, Friday, Dec. 29. For $70-$80, Pre-K through 5th grade students will learn grade-appropriate chemistry and get to explore the museum from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Lyndon E. Pryor is the new President and CEO of the Louisville Urban League. Pryor has been with the League since 2015 and has served in the role on an interim basis for the past three months. The League’s board selected Pryor following a national search.
