In his review of the Butchertown spot, Esquire’s Joshua David Stern wrote, “Nami delivers a deeply satisfying gamchilmat, the profound flavor that Louisville’s been missing.” Stern also hailed Chef Edward Lee for returning to his Korean roots with the menu.
This isn’t the only recognition Nami has received of late. Earlier this month, the restaurant’s executive chef Breanna Baker won the 2023 Spirit of Hospitality Rose Award from Louisville Tourism — which came with a $2,000 check.

With holiday events on the rise, the Louisville Downtown Partnership is working with the Parking Authority of River City (aka PARC) to offer discounted parking at five downtown garages. Throughout December, you can park for $3 per day Friday through Sunday, though pre-registration is required. It typically costs ~$20 per day.

Louisville’s newest spa is coming just in time to combat holiday stress. Tomorrow, Dec. 1, Pelo West will open on the 17th floor of the Galt House Hotel. It’s run by Louisvillian Kaitlyn Hubert, a cosmetologist and influencer. The 3,000-sqft spa includes four treatment rooms, three hair stations, and more.
Arts
A new art gallery and social club co-op is coming to Butchertown. MaybeItsFate will open in April 2024. The space will include intimate rooms across two floors, providing members space to connect, build relationships, and share ideas. The operation says it hopes to create a new business to support artists.

Get those Derby ‘fits ready — on Wednesday, Dec. 6, the 150th Kentucky Derby will be just 150 days away, and the Kentucky Derby Museum will celebrate with a full-day of events. The festivities include a photo for a time capsule + a fashion contest, and the first 150 museum guests get in free.
