Labor Day weekend starts tomorrow, Aug. 30, and we didn’t want to leave you empty handed on things to do over the three-day weekend. So pull up the calendar and start penciling in.
This free festival of cultures kicks off tomorrow and runs through Labor Day on the Belvedere. Don’t miss the Parade of Cultures on Saturday + the Global Village and performances across three stages all weekend long.
Head across the bridge for a street festival near the Big Four Station park in Jeffersonville. The end-of-summer celebration starts at 5 p.m. tonight and promises live music, German-style food + beers, and vendor booths. Pro tip: Don’t forget to pack the fold-up chair to have a place to sit.
Formerly known as “Parrotheads in Paristown,” this annual two-day Jimmy Buffet tribute fest is bringing the salt, salt, salt to Christy’s Garden in Paristown Saturday + Sunday. See 10 bands — including top Jimmy Buffett cover artists Coral Reefer Band Alumni and Trop Rock Royalty — and enjoy plenty of margaritas, of course. Tickets start at $25 for a day pass.
It’s a mouthful to say, but go big or go home. The Great Lawn at Waterfront Park will host over 200 vendors selling vintage clothes, antiques, collectibles, repurposed furniture, and more on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. Bonus: It’s free to attend.
This long-standing free community event begins at 8 a.m. on Labor Day at Waterfront Park. Choose between a 4-mile hike, a 12-mile bike ride, or a paddle along the Ohio River. The first 2,000 people to arrive get a free T-shirt.

Louisvillians are invited to attend a free, virtual panel discussion regarding the future social infrastructure of downtown. The community conversation will be held on Friday, Sept. 22 at 10 a.m. and is part of a series dedicated to the new 10-year Downtown Strategy.
Arts
Tomorrow, Sept. 1, is the opening of Bourbon with HeART’s “Seasoned Spirits” exhibit at the CAMBRiA Hotel downtown. The exhibition celebrates the elegance and wisdom of age through 50 hand-painted bourbon barrel heads created by Kentuckiana artists aged 50+. The works will be on display for the next six weeks.
Eat
The recently opened Renshoku Ramen in Old Louisville is now open for lunch. While ramen isn’t on the midday menu just yet, dishes like a teriyaki pork rice bowl and Japanese fried chicken are available Wednesday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
