America’s birthday falls on a Tuesday this year — which means no long weekend — but that’s not gonna stop us from celebrating.
Here are four free ways to commemorate July 4 around LOU.
Independence Day Celebration: Summer on the Farm | Spend the holiday at Locust Grove from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for 19-century-style fun, like public readings of the Declaration of Independence.
Crescent Hill July 4th Festival | Enjoy an art fair and a children’s fun zone from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at this 38th-annual fest at the Peterson Dumesnil House.
I can’t believe it’s already the end of June — I guess time flies when you’re having fun. I’m looking forward to all the festivities on July 4, as well as my annual summer trip to the quarry with friends.
