More like Disco Ball City 🕺

DYK: More than 90% of all disco balls in the US are produced by Louisville-based Omega National Products? In the height of the 70s, this local company was spinning out nearly 100,000 glitter balls a year.

Yolanda Baker, the pro pictured here, can make one in less than 30 minutes by gluing the mirrored pieces to the aluminum base.

Next time you’re getting down, look up + think of Louisville.

THE WRAP

Editor’s Pick: I love animals. I saw on Twitter yesterday that Ethan, the dog the Kentucky Humane Society nursed back to health earlier this year, returned to KHS to visit a cat who was rescued from a house fire.

Seeing his big sweet face sat next to a recovering kitten was exactly the heartwarming pick-me-up I needed.
