Hi-Wire Brewing Co. — an Asheville, NC-based beer company — is opening its first location in Louisville on Thursday.
The new Louisville taproom at 642 Baxter Ave. will be a 5,550-sqft space with a 360-degree interior mural, a bar with 21 beers on tap + games like soccer pool, table tennis, foosball, and shuffleboard.
Its location within The Baxter Apartments — right next to the new Carali’s Rotisserie Chicken — represents Hi-Wire’s first taproom within a mixed-use development with retail on the first floor + apartments above.
Hi-Wire beer first appeared in the Louisville market in 2018, bringing its 5 flagship beers with it: Hi-Wire Lager, Bed of Nails Brown Ale, Hi-Pitch Mosaic IPA, Lo-Pitch Juicy IPA + the Hi-Wire Gose.
Construction on the new location began earlier this year in March + included an interior renovation to add partition walls to enclose a new office, walk-in cooler, restrooms, bar, game and seating areas, new countertops, and cabinets, according to building records.
#PlanAhead: Though we’re still about a month away from October itself, Hi-Wire is hosting an Oktoberfest celebration on Sept. 11 from 1-5 p.m. The event will feature a costume contest, games, live music, drink specials + food from Red Top Hotdogs.
